Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr knocked out of AFC Champions League in penalty shootout
Al Nassr’s hopes of winning the AFC Champions League were dashed as they fell to Al Ain in a penalty shootout, with only Cristiano Ronaldo finding the back of the net. Despite a valiant effort to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, Al Nassr found themselves trailing 2-0 in the second leg at the Al-Awwda Stadium.
Rahimi’s brace put Al Nassr in a difficult position, but Ghareeb’s goal just before halftime gave the Saudi team hope.
Sadio Mané and Cristiano Ronaldo linked up well, but it was Otávio and Álex Telles who scored to level the tie. However, a late goal from Al Ain sent the game into extra time.

Al Ain progressed to the semifinals, leaving Al Nassr to focus on their domestic league campaign.
