In a recent interview with Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, Al Nassr’s head coach, Luís Castro, expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, hailing him not only as the world’s best player but also as a person of great depth.

Castro, who took charge of the Saudi Arabian club last July, highlighted Ronaldo’s exceptional qualities both on and off the pitch. “Cristiano is not just the best player globally; he is a person of great dimension. He observes others keenly and pays close attention to the intricacies of the group he’s in,” Castro stated.

Having encountered Ronaldo in Riyadh, Castro revealed the Portuguese star’s eagerness to achieve more. “There’s immense ambition in him; that’s normal in his daily life. Cristiano has always had the highest ambition in various aspects of life,” the coach emphasized.

Luís Castro shed light on Ronaldo’s mental and physical prowess, describing him as a person who easily overcomes setbacks. “He surpasses any rough patch because of his mental and physical aptitudes and a profound understanding of the game. He possesses a natural ability to react always,” added Castro.

Reflecting on Ronaldo’s challenging period during the 2022 World Cup, marked by issues with his then-team Manchester United and clashes with former Portugal coach Fernando Santos, Castro urged people to recognize the human side of sports idols. “We are all humans, not machines, and idols are no exception. In certain moments, people focus on the protagonists and lose respect for the human being,” he remarked.
