Aguirre Strengthens América’s Offense
Uruguayan forward Rodrigo Aguirre has signed with Club América, one of the most iconic teams in Mexican football. At 29 years old, Aguirre will wear the América jersey for the third time in his career in Mexican soccer.
His stint with Necaxa in 2021 was remarkable, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in 38 matches, which drew the attention of Monterrey, although his performance there was not as stellar.

Filling Quiñones’ Shoes
The Uruguayan arrives at América with the task of filling the void left by Julián Quiñones, who departed for Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia after securing the bicampeonato with the Mexico City team.
Besides his ability as a center forward, Rodrigo Aguirre is notable for his versatility in different offensive positions, capable of playing as a winger on both flanks.
Strengthening the Eagles’ Attack
Under the guidance of Brazilian coach André Jardine, América aims to bolster their attack, which has featured players like Henry Martín, Brian Rodríguez, and Javairo Dilrosun in the early stages of the Apertura 2024 tournament.
The Eagles, currently with one win and two losses in the first three matches, are preparing to face Juárez in the fourth round, in their quest for a third consecutive Mexican championship this season.
Leagues Cup Break
After this match, the Mexican league will take a break for the Leagues Cup, where Mexican teams will compete against MLS teams in an exciting intercontinental tournament.
Rodrigo Aguirre joins América’s offensive reinforcements with the hope of contributing goals and assists to lead the club to new victories.
